Christmas Came Early

Christmas came early the Jenson house. The day before Thanksgiving, I was getting the house ready to host Thanksgiving and tending to the kids. Devin left to go to Home Depot for a few things at 10am. My parents came over the help with the turkey and fixings for the next day. Devin call around noon saying he didn’t find what he needed at Home Depot and was now at Lowes. The hours kept ticking by as I watched the kids and cleaned the house and waiting for Devin to come home to help me. Finally around 5:30pm (7.5 hours after Devin left) as my frustration level was hitting the high Devin calls and comes home. Apologizing for being late he was out getting my Christmas present and it took longer than he thought. He handed me the keys to our new Toyota Sienna! I was still quite frustrated and it took a few hours for it to fade, but now I am totally excited about our new minivan. Yup, that’s right, we own a minivan. Growing up my family had an Astro minivan. This isn’t that! This has automatic sliding doors and auto back door. Leather interior, heated seats (my favorite part), easy fold down back seats and lots and lots of room!

I never thought I would be a minivan person but it sure is nice!

Thanks Babe. Love you!

Merry Christmas!

We Made It!

We made it to and from Minnesota.  We are back.  We got back last Sunday night.  We had a great time visiting my sister and her family.  Jacob did AWESOME on both plane rides.  I would give him a 10 out of 10 for the first flight and 9.5 out of 10 for the second flight.  The second one probably would have been a 10 except we had to sit on the runway waiting for 1hr because someone’s tray table didn’t fasten closed.  And we also somehow managed to skip both the porno scanners and a molestation patdown.  Bonus!

Jacob had a grand time playing with the girls and all the new to him toys. The girls had a great time playing with Jacob and holding Evie.  Maya (age 4)  informed us that she likes holding babies and dogs.  And the girls had a grand time showing off their best gymnastics skills.

Packing for the Plane

We are all excited to be heading to Minneapolis this Tuesday to visit my sister’s family.  Jacob is super excited to see his cousins.  Gretchen can’t wait to get her little hands on little Evie.

What we are not excited about is the airplane ride.  Jacob sitting for 3.5 hours.  Yeah right.  Hopefully all the other passengers will have patience and understanding.

Here is what we are packing for Jacob for the plane ride.

Evie is 2 Months Old

Ok she is actually 2 months and 2 days.  My post is 2 days late and has no pictures.

We went to the doctor’s today.  “She is perfect” were the exact words of the doctor.  I am glad someone else agrees with us!  She was happy looking at herself in the mirror and cooing up a storm.  Showing off already!  She got 3 vaccines (1 oral and 2 shots).  She was a champ and only cried for about 30 seconds and then fell asleep.

She weighed in at 11lbs 1.5oz (50-75th %tile) and 22 inches long (50th %tile).  Wow.  I hope Jacob didn’t draw the short straw and Evie the long straw.  At 2 months, Jacob was 10lbs 12oz and 22 inches long which was the 25th %tile for both.

Evie is wearing mostly wearing 0-3/3month clothes and size 1 diapers and cloth diapers.  She is smiling more and more often and cooing.  She is sleeping great at night, going about 8-9 hours in between feedings and has been for the last week!  (I am truly blessed!).  She is nursing 5-6 times per day and still spitting up quite a bit.  She is awake quite a bit of the day and sometimes fussy and wanting to be held, she loves to be held.  She still prefers being on her tummy and falls asleep and stays asleep on her tummy better than on her back during the day, though she sleeps on her back at night swaddled up tightly.  Her favorite toy is the turtle mobile in the pack-n-play.  She is very tolerant of her big brother’s touches and noises.  God has answered our prayers with another easy baby!

Pictures tomorrow, I promise.  Pinky promise!

The Lion and the Ballerina

Our Halloween started on Friday, meeting Daddy at work for trick-or-treating.  Jacob of course doesn’t know or care a bit about trick-or-treating but did enjoy running through the halls and eating a few candies with the wrappers on.  We did give him a few bites of a kit kat bar and had to wash his costume for Saturdays events.
