Sleep

Our boy slept (well inbetween feedings) from 8pm to 5am. That's right, 9 hours. Too bad mommy didn't get to sleep that whole time but was good to get about 6 hours of sleep. This week he has been sleeping about 7-7.5hours at a time but last night was the longest. I hope this continues. My plan is to continue the schedule as we have been this week and then maybe next week try to push his bedtime a little later so we can actually maybe sleep through the night. Likely everything will change and I will be up every 4 hours again, but one can hope.

Not Me! Monday

Don't be embarrassed by things you've done or haven't done this week. Not Me! Mondays, the beauty of being imperfect, yet pretending to be. :)

This week I did not eat pizza for dinner, breakfast, dinner, and then breakfast again. Not me! I always eat a variety of healthy foods.

After getting up with Jacob at 3:30am, 6:30am and 8:30am and then getting him back to sleep at 10am, I did not also go back to bed (mom is supposed to sleep when baby is asleep right) and sleep until almost 1pm. Nope, not me! I am always up and at 'em in the morning getting lots of things done during the day.

I am definitely not behind on laundry, cleaning, vacuuming, dusting or organizing our home. Not me! I am always efficient and keep up on house work.

Head on over to MckMama's blog to check out what she and everyone else has been up to this past week.

Look at that Belly

Remember how I mentioned that we were taking a picture of my belly everyday during my pregnancy and most of you thought we were crazy for doing so? Here are all the pictures put together for the final product!

Jacob growing in mama's belly!

Pretty cool huh! (Thanks Devin. Love you)

Project #4

Yes, I have even had a little time to do a few projects. I did this yesterday while Jacob was sleeping.

It's a Moby (like) wrap. Acutally 3 of them.

Pictures

OK so here are the pictures I promised. Jacob did not really want to get his picture taken today so these are the best I could get. Still pretty cute! (if I do say so myself). I put him in his big boy outfit (T-shirt, jeans and boots!)

Enjoy

2 Months

Jacob is 2 months old today. Can you believe it!?

Jacob had a doctor's appointment today. He weighted in at 10lbs 12 oz and stood tall at 22inches. Jacob is right at the 25%tile for weight and length. Again the doctor said he was perfect. Jacob was very happy at the doctors office. Smiling and cooing, that is until the 2 shots in his legs and an oral vaccination. He has been fussing and crying ever since.

Jacob is now wearing 0-3mo clothes but still fits into some of his newborn pants. He is smiling and cooing and happy. He has found his hand and sucks on it whenever his hands are not swaddled. He is sleeping around 10hours at night with one feeding in the middle.

(Pictures coming tomorrow)

A Date!

Devin and I went on our first baby-free date last Friday! (sorry no pictures)

Devin surprised me Monday morning with 5 tulips and a card with a poem. Then Tuesday morning with 4 Gerber daisies and another poem. Wednesday, I received 3 red roses and a poem. Thursday, 2 small boxes of Sees Chocolates. It was the count down to our date on Friday. Friday am, I received a dozen red roses and instructions to be ready by 5pm. My Dad arrived just before 5pm to babysit and Devin and I left. We had dinner at El Goucho's in Bellevue. On our table were another 6 red roses. We enjoyed at excellent steak dinner with ceasar salad and mashed potatoes. Following dinner we headed over to the movie theater to see Where the Wild Things Are. After the movie it was back towards home with a stop at Cold Stone for some ice cream and a short walk around Redmond Town Center.

I was a little nervous about leaving Jacob, but I hardly even thought about him at all.

Devin loves to do things BIG and he loves to spoil me. (Isn't he the best!)

Not Me! Monday

It's Monday again! Here is another Not Me! Monday.

I did not wear the same pair of pants 3 days in a row and they did not have baby spit up all down the leg for all 3 days. Nope not me! I always wear clean clothes and look presentable.

I did not make cookies the week and did not eat 3 just because there wasn't enough frosting for those. Not me!

After getting the OK for exercise from the doctor. I did not have the plan to do pilates at least 3 days a week if not everyday and I certainly did not do it any day. I also did not have the plan to walk at least 3 days per week since Jacob was born and have not been out walking only 3 times. Nope! I always follow through on all my plans.

How about you? No need to be embarrassed by all the things you didn't do this past week. Check out what MckMama and everyone else has not been up to this week.

Photo Shoot

This photo shoot was inspired by this new onesie "iPoo'd" from Grandpa and Nana (Devin's Dad Pat and his wife Denise). If it was warmer, Jacob could be an "ipood" for Halloween.

Craigslist

I am a bargain shopper. I hardly ever buy anything at full price. In fact, I cannot think of a single baby item that I have bought at full price (except for one baby outfit). And thus my love for craigslist.com. I just bought this play wall off craigslist.com. Not this one exactly but just like it. It is in excellent condition, just need to wipe it down.
Get this...for only $15! Amazon.com is selling it for $199. Now that is a steal of a deal if you ask me. Now I know Jacob is too little to actually play with it but soon enough and I will be ready. Other things I have bought off craigslist.com: Snap-N-Go stroller, Phil&Ted's stroller, Sling, Miracle blankets, Bumgenius diapers, and a lawn mower (a real one, not a toy one). We have saved so much money this way. Babies are expensive and it's amazing what people are willing to sell for cheap. And with kids stuff, most of it is in excellent condition cause a lot of people only have one kid. The key is to do your research and wait for a good deal. The next thing I am looking for is a Moby Wrap for around $15. If you see one on there, let me know!

Infarction

So I had my 6week doctor's appt yesterday. The main discussion was regarding my placenta. The pathology report indicated that the placenta had multiple areas of infarction (little heart attacks where blood flow to an area is cut off and that area dies). About 10% of the placenta was infarcted. The dead area can then bleed. The cause of the infarction is unknown. Could be because of the placenta previa I had. The doctor also mentioned that it could be that I have a clotting disorder. If I do have a clotting disorder then the placenta problems would likely happen again with another pregnancy. So we decided to run all the blood tests to rule out a clotting disorder (I'll know in a few days). Other than that I have a bill of clean health and do whatever I want.

All About Me!

I remember when I was in first or second grade we made an "All About Me" book. In it were all kinds of things such as my favorite color, favorite food, what I want to be when I grow up... The following idea was copied from my friend Sarah's blog and reminded me of my "All About Me" book. Here is my new "All About Me" blog post:

I am - a new mother and loving it
I think - that I worry too much
I know - I am loved
I want - to travel
I have - a wonderful husband
I wish - our yard and house were all fixed up and our wood fireplace worked well
I hate - mushrooms
I miss - my pre-baby body
I feel - so blessed everyday
I crave - chocolate. Always!
I search - for new things that I can make
I wonder - what my life would be like if I never met my husband
I regret - all the fights with my husband
I love - my husband and baby boy
I care - too much about what people think about me
I always - try to be on time
I am not - a very clean person
I believe - in the Father God and my savior Jesus Christ
I dance - usually only when my husband makes me
I sing - by myself and when my husband makes me.
I laugh - everytime my husband flairs his nose
I cry - too often
I don’t always - pick my clothes up off the floor and make the bed
I write - this blog as often as I think of things to write
I lose - patience too often
I never - miss "The Office" or "Biggest Loser" because we have a media center. love it!
I listen - to my baby's new coo's
I can usually be found - with my baby
I’m scared of - spiders.
I need - Jesus
I can’t wait - to have another baby (well I can wait a little bit)

Feel free to copy and add your own "All About Me."

Not Me! Monday

The other day while feeding Jacob, I did not hear and feel 3 large rumbling thunders. I then did not look down to inspect his backside for a blowout and found that his back was clear but there was a leg leakage. I then did not see poo on my shirt! I did not then hold Jacob up by the armpits and exclaim "help!" for Devin to take Jacob and change him. Nope not me! My child does not poo on me and I always am there to clean him up!

I did not sleep in until 10:30 a few days ago and I definitely do not wish I could sleep in until 10:30 everyday. Nope.

I have not been craving chocolate lately and eating chocolate something (hot cocoa, chocolate pudding, chocolate Costco muffins, kit kat bar) everyday. Not Me!

That's it for another Monday. Head on over to MckMama's blog to see what she and everyone else has not been up to this past week.
