Not Me! Monday

It's Monday. Time for another round of "Not Me" Monday and being glad that I don't have to live a perfect life even if I pretend too! ha.
I did not promise to post pictures of Jacob at 8 months and then fail to follow through. Not me! And then when I did finally take some pictures I did not leave the camera at my parents house. Nope!
I did not loudly stop my husband from going in to wake Jacob yesterday morning just because I like to peak in on him and see how he is sleeping. I then did not also start laughing and acting goofy (definitely from being deliriously tired) No way, not me!
I definitely do not think Jacob is the cutest baby and tell him that many times a day.
And I most definitely did not have a birthday last week and I most definitely did not turn 32. Yikes, not me, I am not that old!
Feel free to check out MckMama's blog (she is the creator of Not Me! Monday) to see what everyone else has not been up to.

Baked Bean Sandwich: A Recipe

Ok, so it's not much of a recipe and it sounds weird, but don't knock it until you try it. It's delish!

Ingredients:
bread
baked beans
cheese

Steps:
1. Toast bread in the toaster to desired toastiness

2. Open baked beans and drain liquid

3. Place toast on cookie sheet

4. Spread beans on toast

5. Bake on Broil until beans are warm, looking a little dry

6. Place cheese on top of warm beans and return to oven until cheese is melted

7. Serve and eat. Caution: sandwiches are very hot!

Yummy! Give it a try.

Jacob is 8 Months Old

8 Month Stats:

Weight: ~16 lbs (weighed on our scale, me+Jacob - me)
Length: ? didn't measure
Clothes: Just starting to move onto 9mo clothes, although the pants he is wearing right now are 3mo. ha.
Teeth: 2 on the bottom, and the two on the top are just about to break through
Favorite foods: Pears, bananas, carrots, cereal, graham crackers, puffs
Not so favorite foods: peas, cauliflower, avacados
Favorite toys: jumperoo, anything that spins, tags
Movement: Not quite crawling. He gets where he wants to go by scooching. He can almost get to a sit from his stomach and almost get to his stomach from a sit without falling. He can almost pulling himself up to his knees from his stomach, but from his knees he can get to a stand, but he doesn't think he needs to hang onto anything.
Hours of sleep at night: about 11hours
Naps during the day: usually 2 naps of 2-3 hours
New milestones: the swing at the park, sitting in a restaurant high chair and the grocery cart.

Toys Possessed

So occasionally Jacob's toys will just randomly start singing or talking or whatever. I mean for no reason, they have not been played with in hours and no one is around. Weird right. Well this tops all. 2 nights ago Devin was downstairs finishing up, I was upstairs getting ready for bed and Jacob had been in bed for hours. Jacob's tabletop toy was sitting in the family room. It was 11:30pm, the toy had not been played with in over 3 hours. This is what Devin heard:

"Peek-a-boo"
(pause)
"I see you! He-he-he"
(long pause)
"Peek-a-boo"

A little freaky right!? (especially after we just watched a scary movie. Glad it was Devin downstairs and not me!)

A Day at the Park

It was beautiful here today, and since it doesn't happen that often we had to take advantage and go to the park. Jacob of course is too little for the park toys except for the swings. (He also tried out the teeter-tot and slide but since he needed mommy's help there are not pictures). Here is his first swinging experience:

"Do I do it like this?"

"Oh I hang on like this."

"Check out my toothy grin"

"What's over there?"

"This is really fun!"

"I can swing like the big boys"

"Ah, a fun day at the park"
