These are my attempts at some artsy photos of Jacob. He wasn’t the best subject as he wouldn’t sit or stay still but I got some decent ones. I have also discovered photo editing. I don’t have any fancy photo editing software, just windows live photo gallery but I did edit all these photos. Mostly just increased the saturation to boost the colors.

Sensory Tub
This is our first sensory tub.
I have been looking (well, thinking) of ways to do more with Jacob to encourage his curiosity and his learning. I found a lot of good teaching ideas/plans for toddlers, but since he has minimal attention span and excessive energy and curiosity, I thought a sensory tub would be a good idea. I found many tub ideas here and here. Sensory tubs are apparently great for exploring different textures, colors, sounds, and smells and learning to scooping, pouring, sorting, counting, imaginative play and so much more.
I didn’t have a theme. I just used items I had at home.
My box contains:
1 almost full bag of Cotton balls
6 Yarn puffs
3 Mason jar rings
2 Yellow golf balls
1 Olive garden cup for scooping
I also made a bean tub.
We’ll see how it goes. I foresee a lot of cleaning up in my future.

Random Pictures
Devin got me a new camera for Christmas. I have been busy taking pictures and playing around the new features. I have been waiting for the weather to dry out so I can get out and take some pictures. Here are some from the last few weeks.

Evie is 4 Months Old
Here is what Evie is up to:
Height: 24 inches (50-75th % tile)
Weight: 13 lbs 11ounces (50-75th % tile)
Sleeping: From 7 weeks until her 3 month birthday, she slept great, 9-10 hours/night. For the last month, it has been about 5-7 hours per night. I don’t know why, but I am not a fan. In the last week we have gotten back to about 8 hours. Last night was a miraculous 10 hours but the night before was terrible. She naps about 3-4 times per day of about 1 hour each, sometimes longer.
Eating: She is nursing 5-6 times per day, about every 3 hours during the day and I make her go at least 8 hours during the night, even if she wakes up before that. She is still spitting up a lot. A few weeks ago, I fed her and then handed her off to Devin and went upstairs. I heard Devin exclaim a few times and asked when I came down if she spit up. He answered 3 mediums and a large. We often go through 4 outfits for Evie a day and usually 2-3 shirts for me.
Activity: She is starting to reach for things. She likes being on her belly (for a good ~10 min) but she has not rolled over yet. She can hold her head level when pulled to a sit and she has started to put some weight on her legs and “stand up”. She has been in the bumbo and jumperoo a few times.
Temperament: She is passing out lots of smiles and giggles when the mood is right, usually just after she has eaten or when she wakes up. She is talking up a storm. For the most part she is content and easy going. She likes watching Jacob. This past month she has been much more fussy and has been crying a lot more but this too seems to be easing off. She is
Clothes: She is wearing 3-6 month or 6 month oneies and pants and 3 month jammies and shirts. She is wearing size 2 diapers.
