Evie is 10 Months Old

Evie is 10 months.  Ok so she is actually 10.5months and probably closer to 11months but better late than never.

Here is what she is up to:

Height: 26.5inches (2nd %tile)
Weight: 18lbs (35th %tile)
(we finally had her 9mo well child check this past week)

She is clapping, clicking her tongue, blowing raspberries, saying ba-ba-ba-ba and copies all of these.

She is sitting well and standing well holding on to things.  She is just starting to cruise around her toys.  She is just starting to get to her stomach from a sit.  She is getting to her hands and knees and rocking a tiny bit.  She is not crawling.  She is getting frustrated by not being able to get what or go where she wants.

She loves her big brother.  They “talk” or scream back and forth at each other as well as laugh at each other.

She loves the water and enjoyed our road trip maybe more than the rest of us.

Her favorite toys are anything she can grab or stand up at.  She loves bubbles.

Her favorite foods are fruits, lil’ biscuits, puffs.  She is finally able to eat and swallow puffs and crackers.

She has no teeth yet, but is working on some I think.

She is sleeping ~12 hours at night and taking 2 naps during the day.  (1 nap about 2 hrs and 1 nap ~1hr).  And finally she is sleeping unswaddled!  I think the road trip really helped push her sleeping and kick the swaddle habit.

She is wearing anywhere from 6mo to 12 mo clothes depending on the clothes.  Mainly 6-9mo pants, 9mo onesies, 12mo shirts.  She is wearing size 3 diapers.

An awesome walk thru safari in Brandon, Or.  They had goats, rams, sheep, deer, peacocks, donkeys, geese, and llamas just roaming around that you could pet.  They also had a baby tiger cub and baby leopard cub that you could pet.

Swimming

We just got back from our 10 days on the road down the Oregon Coast to Redding California to visit Devin’s Dad.  Every place we stayed had a pool so Jacob got a lot of water time and loved it.  He amazed us with how comfortable he is in the water and how brave he got.  (Twice he jumped into the pool without a life vest and anybody nearby to catch him and sank to the bottom.  Scary!).  We had little baby boats and life vests for him to use of which he didn’t really care for.  It wasn’t until the last day when we tried the arm floaties…and he did great.  He was “swimming” by himself in the hotel pool.
