18 Months Little Noah

Oh little Noah.  18 months already.  He seems so little and young but much older and developing faster than the previous at 18 months, at least it seems that way.  Noah is a happy little boy, loves to laugh with his brother and sister and daddy.  He is also quite a feisty little guy, just try take something away, remove him from playing or try to feed him.  I can't believe its been 18 months already.  Here is a little bit about what our boy is up too:

Height: 29.4 inches (still less than the 2nd %tile, but did grow more than just linear growth since his 16 mo check.  So he is a little closer to the curve.)
Weight: 19lbs 8ounces (3rd %tile)

His favorite foods depends on the day. Milk, blueberries, strawberries. grapes, goldfish, cheese, peanut butter M&M's.  He seems to have a pretty small appetite.  After his 16 month appointment we initiated the "grow Noah grow" diet consisting of adding heavy cream to his whole milk, adding coconut oil and cream to his oatmeal, getting any and all calories in him that we could.  He is a self feeder now and very proficient with a spoon and fork.  He always needs a utensil in hand when eating.

Noah is a little spit fire!  He will definitely let you now what he wants.  He has quite a little temper and will lay down (all be it gently) and cry.  He holds his own with his brother and sister and can be a bit of a bully to other little kids.  And he definitely doesn't like it when I hold another baby.

He is wearing about a size 9-12 month clothes.  I finally packed away the 6 month pants, though he can still wear some 6 month shorts.  He is wearing 3 and 4 shoes and a size four diaper.

He "talks" all day long.  He has quite a few words now probably more than our other two at this age.  He says up, down, mommy, daddy, Eve, Jacob, eye, nose, ear, light, thank you, hi, cracker, milk, potty, uh oh, bath, car, ball, swing, play, and a bunch others I can't think of right now.

Noah is also very active like Jacob was at this age, maybe more so.  He can walk, almost run and jump.  he has started to want to walk down and up stairs.  He will 'jump' to me from the changing table or any high surface.  He climbs all over the couches and chairs. He can climb a ladder and almost all the play structure things.  He can slide down sitting up, though often gets a foot stuck and tumbles down.

We love him so much.  He is so cute and gets away with way too much and we wouldn't change him for the world!

A conversation with Jacob

J: What are you doing momma?

M: I am going to paint your room.

J:  Can I paint too?

M:  Not today.  You can play downstairs or sit on your bed and watch me paint.  You cannot touch the painting stuff.

J:  You are painting over there.  Why are you painting?  You are painting grey.  Why are you painting up there?  Why are you using that stool?

M: I am using to stool to paint up high

J:  You are painting up high.  Why are you painting up high?

M:  We are painting your whole wall

J:  Are you going to paint this wall?  Are you going to paint this wall?  Are you going to paint this wall too?  What are you doing momma?  You are painting.  You are painting my whole wall.  Can I paint too.

M:  You can paint when we paint blue

J:  I am not going to paint any more grey.  I am just going to paint blue.  We are going to paint blue on Saturday?  We are going to paint this wall blue?  Blue comes after grey.  Mom, blue comes after grey.  We are going to paint blue next?

J: I am not going to jump down on the paint.

M:  Please do not jump on the paint.  Please just stay on your bed.

J:  I can jump down on the carpet.  Huh mom, can I jump down on the carpet.  (Jumps down)  I can run around this way.  This wall has paint on it?  I am not going to touch the paint.  No way.  I am not going to touch the paint.  I am just going to stand right here (6 inches from the wet wall)

M:  You are too close to the wet paint.  Please go back to your bed and sit.

J:  I am not going to touch the paint.  I can just look.  I can just run around this way.  This wall is not wet?  I can touch this wall?  Why did you make that shape there?  Why are you painting there?  Are you painting grey?  You are painting around those holes?  Why are you painting around those holes?  You are going to put those white things back on?

M:  Yes whey the paint is dry I am going to put the white things back on.

J:  You are going to put the white things back on when the paint is dry?  You are painting around those holes.  You are painting way up high.  Why are you painting up high.  You are painting my whole wall.  I can touch over here.  I am not going to jump down on the paint.  I am not going to touch the paint, I am just going to look.  I can run around over here?  I can twirl over here?

M: If you want to twirl, you need to go out into the basement because if you twirl in here you are going to bump into the wet wall.  Why don't you go out and play in the basement

J:  Ok I will go out for 2.

M:  Carefully go out please

(touches the wet wall while opening the door.  Twirls for the count of 2 and comes back in his room)

J: You are paining my room.  You are paining up high.  Can I paint up high?  Can I use the stool?  I can use it to get on my bed like this

M: Mommy needs the stool to paint

J: Why do you need the stool to paint up high?  You are painting to the ceiling?  You are painting the walls grey but not the ceiling.  The ceiling is going to stay white.

M:  Yup the ceiling is going to stay white.  We are just painting the walls because you colored on them.

J:  You are painting over there now.  Why are you painting over there?  Why are you moving the blanket over there?

M:  I am moving the blanket so I don't get paint on the floor.

J:  You are painting by the door.

M:  Yes, I am almost done.

(I put the roller down)

J:  You are putting paint on the box!  You are done painting with this.

M:  Jacob, please do not touch that.  Please move away from the paint.

Oh the joys of a 3 yr old.

Boots

The kids got new boots.

They each picked out their pair.  Interesting because they are not what I would have purchased for them, so I am glad they got to choose.  Black and yellow for Jacob, purple butterfly boots for Evie.

I Love Pinterest

I love Pinterest.  Maybe I have a slight addiction.  I have so many things in my head that I want to do, I have a handful of things that I have done, and a handful of things that are in the works.  I can't wait to show off some of my projects, they look so awesome in my head!
