9 Months Old!
Our little man is 9months old today. It's hard to believe the he was inside me for 9 months and now has been with us for 9 months. It's amazing how much he as grown, learned and developed in just 9 short months.
Jacob is now officially crawling. He had been doing a fish flop/froggie scoot for about 2 months but as of last friday he is actually crawling. Along with crawling, he is also pulling himself up on EVERYTHING. He is starting to "cruise" around his toys and the couch and starting to walk holding on to our hands.
He has been trying hard to give up his afternoon nap and I have been trying hard to keep it. Or it may just be that he learned to pull himself up in the crib and that is so much more fun than sleeping. This is what he as been doing while he is supposed to be napping (sorry some are kind of burry, he was jumping around, so excited I was there):
Jacob also loves bath time. He always crawls from his room to the tub to stand up and look in at his toys. He is taking big boy baths and loves to lay down in the water and splash, splash, splash away.
He can also sit in a restaurant high chair (although does better with a little padding behind him) and can sit in a shopping cart (making it so much easier to go grocery shopping and Costco).
Lets see, other 9 month mentionables. He now as 4 teeth (2 top, 2 bottom) as you can see in some of the pics. He looks so much different with teeth. He is eating like a champ, with a waiting open mouth for almost every bite. His favorite foods are bananas, pears, oatmeal, carrots, yams but he will eat pretty much anything. He is wearing mostly 9 months onesies, 6 month pants and shirts. His favorite toys are the table top toys he can pull up on, anything that spins, turning the pages of books, the jumperoo and shoes.
He has his 9mo doctor check-up next week, so will get weight and height stats then.
Happy 9 month birthday little man. You bring us such joy and laughter. I can't imagine life without you. We love you!

Old T-Shirt/New Bib
We go through a LOT of bibs around here. We do laundry every ~3-4 days because we run out of bibs and burp cloths. So I got the bright idea to make some bibs. I searched the internet for free patterns and found this one from Chickpea Studios. I modified it using my Carter's bibs because I like the ones that velcro on the side instead of the back. I was thinking about what type of material to use when I found a bin of Devin's old stained shirts in the garage and I thought they would be perfect.

Another Monday almost over, but I still have time for a "Not Me!" Monday post:
Last week, I did not wake up my husband at 1:30am because I was dreaming I dropped syringes on his face and I swiped his face waking him trying to clean them up so they wouldn't wake him. Ha. Not Me! I have not been having crazy pregnancy dreams. Nope.
I did not peak in on Jacob who was crying but supposed to be napping today only to find him standing up, smiling at me. I did not see little black specks all over his face, chest, and hands. My first thought was not "coffee ground emesis" but upon inspection find he had chewed on the crib chipping off the top layers. Nope!
I did not lay awake for 2.5 hours last night with stomach ache, only to finally get up at 1:00am and take some tums, which helped. I then did not wake up at 4:30 with an itchy mosquito bite and have to get up and put benedryl cream on it. Nope, I always sleep all the way through the night.
That's all I have until next time.....

Weekly Update
How far along? 21 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: + 10lbs (2 lbs a week.....hope this doesn't continue, I could be in trouble!)
Sleep: I think I should just give up on sleep all together. Can anyone explain how you can barely keep your eyes open but the moment you crawl into bed you are wide awake (except maybe with your eyes closed)
Best moment this week: Seeing our little one yesterday and finding out baby is healthy and growing/developing normally
Movement: Feeling kick daily, mostly at night when I am finally quiet
Food cravings: chocolate ice cream, chocolate milk, frosted mini wheats, sugar!
Gender: It's a GIRL!
Belly Button in or out? In, but starting to get flatter.
What I miss: being able to reach to the bottom of the washing machine.
What I am looking forward to: buying little baby girl clothes
Baby Development: Baby is about 7 inches long (the size of a large banana) and almost 11 ounces. Baby's arms and legs are now in proportion with rest of her body, cartilage is turning to bone and neurons are getting connected between brain and muscles.
The ultrasound went well. Baby is healthy with no problems they could see. The doctor did say the baby is on the small side ~10th %tile so they might change the due date froom the 14th to the 18th so that the baby will be around the 30th %tile. Other than that all is well with both baby and I.
