20 week Ultrasound

So we had a doctor appt and then the ultrasound appt today. The doctor said that the size of the baby most often takes after the mother's side rather than the father's side -- which is really good news since the Jenson family has freaking huge babies. No offense Jenson's but I would much prefer to deliver a 6-7lb baby than a 10lb baby.

The ultrasound went well though we were quite bummed when we walked in with a video camcoder and were told it's against policy to record the ultrasound. It was awesome to actually see our little one. As tempting as it was, we held true to waiting to find out the sex, so everybody will have to wait with us. The ultrasound showed the baby was looking good, but the placenta is too low, just over the cervix. The doctor said it was pretty common and 95% of the time the placenta moves up by 40 weeks. If for some reason it does not move up, then I will have to have a c-section. The good news is we get to have another ultrasound in 10 more weeks! This time we are going to do more research into a 3D/4D ultrasound and one we can record.

Here are some pics from today's ultrasound:

  2. Very cute sissy. Yeah, you can't record at those appts. If you do a 4D one, you can sometimes choose an option for them to record it for you. We had that option when we did the 4D with Maggie. Usually the 4D's are optional though and you'll have to pay for it out of pocket. Your one in 10 weeks will probably be the same thing you just had. Still fun though!!!
